Model Info Center
Thank you so much to signing up to be part of my upcoming photography workshop!

Models are the heart and soul of any event, and help create an environment of ease, creativity and learning for our participants.
Our photographers are in various stages of their careers. Some are just starting out, and some have been doing this for years. All will be practicing their directing and trying out new things creatively.

All I ask of you is to show up with an easy-going mindset and just have fun with it. There will be lots of exploring, moving and hopefully laughs.
We will be at the incredible Sunny Valley Adventure Lodge.

If you have any questions, please ask!
By attending the workshop, you give consent to the attending photographers to use the photos they take for their social media, website, and in print.
Some of our props, products and foods are also sponsored by amazing local Peace Country businesses, and the photos may be shared by them as well.
I will have a media release form for you to quickly sign when you arrive.
When
- Please arrive no later than 30 minutes before your session, and park with the other cars.
- You'll have access to a room and washroom to do any outfit changes and final touch ups.
- At the beginning of the session, I will do a mini chat and demo with you before we break into groups. The groups will be made up of 3-4 photographers who will take turns photographing you one at a time. It is up to them to direct you, you are not expected to be expert models. Time will fly by and there will be a brief break in the middle of the session before we switch groups. If you ever need a washroom or snack break, just let the photographers know, they will be happy to accommodate.
Where
The workshop is at Sunny Valley Adventure Lodge just south of Manning.
It is a gorgeous log cabin lodge, and the surrounding property is classic Peace Country: Farmer's fields, birches, evergreens, rolling hills and quading trails. It's an easy drive from Grande Prairie, with the last 21kms being a good gravel road.

Google Maps is accurate for directions, but downloading an 'offline map' of the area also a good idea if you're worried at all since reception is spotty once you get lower into the river valley. The lodge has wifi in case you need it.

We'll be both indoors and outdoors so please bring shoes you're ok walking around outside in (no need for heels).
What To Wear
Overall, the goal is for our models to be comfy and confident in what they are wearing.
Due to the location of the workshop, we do not have hair and makeup artists this time so please come prepared in your favourite looks. The vision for the workshop is country rustic and natural so there is no need for full glam unless you love that style and know how to rock it :) Be yourself and I'm sure you'll look amazing.
Each shoot for the workshop has a slightly different vision. If you have wardrobe questions or photos, send them my way!
- Saturday 10:30 am: Comfy and cozy vibes in and around the cabin. Think cute knits, cardigans, jeans, or even a skirt for the ladies, and casual jeans and a t-shirt, long sleeve or button up for the guys. This is really up to you! Please stick to neutral colours or classic prints (ie. plaids), and no huge logos.
- Saturday 7pm Couples Session: Romantic sunset vibes around the outside of the cabin and grounds. A dress or skirt if you have one you love, or jeans work too if you're more comfy in that. A cozy oversided cardigan could also work well because weather permitting we'll be outside for this whole session. Feel free to bring layers that you can switch between, and comfortable shoes. Comfy casual outfit with jeans is fine for the guys.
- Saturday 7pm Elopement Session: The wedding dress will be provided by The Bridal Collection , and we'll make sure it's perfect at the fitting. For footwear, comfort is most important. You'll be on your feet and walking around a ton on uneven outdoor terrain. If you want to bring a pair of pretty shoes and a pair of practical ones, that's good too! Colour doesn't matter, but the florals will be deep reds and pinks. For our guys, a button up shirt and anything other than blue jeans if you have that option. I'll have suspenders, a bowtie and boutonniere for you. It should feel like something you could wear to a rustic, country elopement. Cowboy boots are welcome for all!
- Sunday 8am Elopement Session: The wedding dress will be provided by The Bridal Collection , and we'll make sure it's perfect at the fitting. For footwear, comfort is most important. Colour doesn't matter, but the florals will be purples, pinks and oranges. For our guys, a button up shirt and anything other than blue jeans if you have that option. I'll have suspenders, a bowtie and boutonniere for you. It should feel like something you could wear to a rustic, country elopement. Cowboy boots are welcome for all!
- Sunday 12:30pm Couples Session: We will be outside of the cabin and grounds. This look is up to you, just wear something you'd actually wear to a couple's session. Cute and romantic, or badass and adventurous, choose your own adventure. Feel free to bring layers that you can switch between, and comfortable shoes. Comfy casual outfit with jeans is fine for the guys. Being comfy and confident is what matters most.
Additional Details
- You are welcome to join us for any meal directly before or after your session, just let me know and we'll save you a seat! Saturday will be a simple breakfast 8-9, and dinner is pizza oven pizzas 5:30-6:30. Sunday is a big brunch from 10:45-12.
- Please let me know if you have any allergies and their severity, or medical/mobility issues that we should be aware of. I want everyone to feel comfortable and taken care of.
- You will have a large room on the top floor of the cabin for you to keep any of your things safe during the session. You are welcome to change and do any final touchups up there.
