An Extra Special Event

Last night I got to photograph an event that would have made elementary school me super proud.

A huge shoutout goes to theRADlife.ca and The Phillip J.Currie Dinosaur Museum in Grande Prairie, AB for making it happen.

Fun Fact: I wanted to be a palaeontologist ever since going to a dinosaur exhibit visited Vancouver when I was in kindergarten. I can literally still feel the excitement and wonder of walking amongst the giant displays. Once I hit high school, that love of dinosaurs shifted into wanting to curate museum exhibits. The idea of getting to work with artist, scientists, and visionaries on ever-changing projects and travel the world felt like a perfect fit for all the creativity I had to share.

Fast forward to last night…

I got to capture + create images of amazingly passionate people doing yoga. In a museum. Surrounded by dinosaurs.

Not going to lie. I teared up a bit during the centering.

Last night was definitely a little extra special but when I really think about it, I’m going everything that the kid in this photo would have wanted to be doing at this point in her life. I’ve traveled all over the world. I get to work with extraordinary people. I live in a place I love and eat endless amounts of sushi…

And most importantly, I get to create every day.

From day 1, I have stayed true to exactly what I wanted from this life. I’m kinda proud of that.

What about you? What are some of your craziest childhood dreams/goals that have come true? If you haven’t fulfilled any yet, what can you do to make them happen?
